Re: Show me how your crown molding turned out
Wow, that turned out really, really nice! I purposely won't be doing ming that fancy. I just need a basic, small, white molding.

Show me how your crown molding turned out
I don't need anything fancy, as this is just a mobile home, but I do need to replace the existing horizontal ceiling battens that that are a crude form of crown molding. My ceiling is vaulted with popcorn, so this will be tricky. If the photo upload problem is resolved on this website, I would love ...

Re: Converting double doors into a single door
Wow, what a lot of work. Ummmm, how do mobile home manufactures make their doors? Do you think they use existing door frames or do they make their own piece by piece on site?

Converting double doors into a single door
Hello my friends, I am back after being gone for the winter months. It's time to work on the mobile home again and I need some advice. In the photo below you will see double bathroom doors that open up into the master bedroom. It is not a good use of space and so I want to turn this into a single do...

Re: Door weather strip hangs too low
Ron, it is a steel door. Here are the photos that you asked for. The second one shows a screw going through the sill plate into the mobile home floor.
Thanks!

Re: Any examples of crown molding?
We have popcorn ceiling so our crown molding had gaps from not resting flat to the ceiling. We used a paint-able caulk to fill the gap and it really improved the overall look of it all. I would love to see a photo if that's possible. Did most of you guys just buy some crown molding available at Hom...

Worried about freezing PEX pipe
I went to great lengths to ensure the water line coming in to my mobile home is several feet under the ground. That way it won't freeze in the bitter winters that we sometimes get in northern Utah. But then I realized that the manufacturer of the home wasn't quite as concerned. For when the water li...

Re: Under sink drip tray with PEX pipe in the way
The pex valves under the sinks have minor leaks. I plan on fixing these for sure with new valves, however, I was just planning ahead in case they start to leak in the future. This is why I was considering a drip pan.Greg S wrote:What exactly is dripping and why would you not simply stop/repair the drips.

Under sink drip tray with PEX pipe in the way
Has anyone come up with a good way of catching drips under a sink? I found some drip trays online but they don't take into account that some people like me have PEX pipes coming up through the floor. Therefore, I can't lay a normal drip dray on the bottom of the sink cabinet.
Thanks!

Any examples of crown molding?
I have taken down all of the vertical battens and left the horizontal ones by cover the seam by the ceiling. I'm thinking of buying some inexpensive crown molding and installing right on top of the ceiling batten. Has anyone done this? If so, do you have any photos of how the project turned out? Tha...

Door weather strip hangs too low
I had about a half inch gap or more at the bottom of my door, so I bought one of those weather strips. However, it hangs way too low and makes it difficult to open/close the door. Any thought on the best way to trim this sucker?
Thanks!

Nordyne furnaces don't have filters?
Today I looked but could not find a replaceable furnace filter. I have a Nordyne. Do these units made for mobile homes not come with a filter?
Thanks!

Can bathroom fans be repaired?
I have a 1995 Redman mobile home. In the two bathrooms, both fans just make a humming sound when I turn them on. Can these be oiled or repaired or something? Or is it going to be better just to replace them with new ones?
Thanks!
