Replacing lines to furnace?

There's a mobile home where they cut the lines to the furnace because it ran on gas and they did not have gas on their land when they bought the mobile home. They use a window unit 18000 cool/17000 heat for cooling and heating the home. It is 856 square feet.

Does anyone know what is involved in replacing the lines and re-connecting the furnace?

I am not sure if this is possible - they mentioned the home had been gas before but they converted it to electric when they bought it 3 years ago.

Would a gas furnace not work anymore in this case?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

That depends on what all was done in modifying it. Add to that the fairly high cost of parts and labor would most likely make it not cost efficient.

Hi,

I may have misread this before, clarify exactly what it is you are wanting to do.

Reconnect what lines to the durnace ?

Thanks,
Robert

Oh, it was the gas lines - they cut the gas lines to the furnace since they do not have gas on their land. They tried to remove the furnace but were not able to - they wanted to use the area where the furnace was in as storage. Thanks for your help!

Hi,

If they left the furnace there, then you would need to get an hvac tech to reconnect the gas lines, bleed the air, hook up any disconnected wiring.

Then have gas turned on and pressure checked. If the gas meter has been removed, would need to have gas company reinstall it.

Thanks ,
Robert
