I unplugged my water softener while I was working on my plumbing and turned the water to the house off. Now that the water is turned back on, my water softener drained. Then, it kept draining. It seems even when we are not using water, our pump turns on, water goes to the softener, and the softener sends the water to the drain. Constantly. No clue why it sends water straight to the drain. I thought the tank would fill and sit there until I used water. Confused.

Is it stuck in the middle of a recharge cycle? Can you manually advance the control to the off, or normal use position? Sounds like an issue with the control unit if it has had time to run through a full cycle and is still discharging water.
EDIT: I re-read the OP and realized that you may not have yet plugged it back in. Do that and allow enough time for it to run through a cycle.
