That is strange. Could be Robert will be along in a while. At this point I am kind of lost. Was there somekind of a part number on the old one? post all the numbers on the old one if you can.

Ok, is there a possibility it has just 4 spades and on one is something like this:

or this:

and it has two wires to it.

That would be 5 wires, but just 4 spades.

Thanks,
Robert

Hi,

You should have 2 Blue and 2 Blacks = 4 wires.

Since you have a Yellow making it 5 wires, see if you had one of those terminals like above with 2 wires connected to it ?

Thanks,
Robert

yes i believe it is like that, the two are very close together, looks like could be the same. two black wires are on that one, blue one is in the middle, another black one on the side and the yellow on the bottom

Is the relay next to the transformer inside the rectangular metal box at midway of furnace front ?

Just making sure we're on same page here.

If so, can you turn all power to furnace OFF, then remove those two blacks to see if they were on ONE spade by way of a terminal like I posted ?

Thanks,
Robert

Ok, draw on a piece of paper the shape of the old relay.

Put a mark where each wire goes and the color.

At place of the two blacks, write 2 blacks.

Tape those two blacks together so as to know they are THE two blacks.

Then remove the wires and remove screws to remove the relay.

Lay it beside the drawing you made.

Look at the relay, it should have numbers beside each spade.

What are they and with what wire ?

Give me this and I'll see if same numbers match for both relays.

Thanks,
Robert

ok i think i have this figured out, amazing hey? both blacks are linked together somehow and are on prong #2, yellow is on prong #3 the single black is on prong #4 and the blue is on prong #1. how does that sound?

Can you see at all where they go ?

Should be ok, but without testing, would like to be sure.

IF that is where they went on old relay, placing on same on new one should be fine though.

Thanks,
Robert

Thank you Robert I never thought that someone would mistake a two wire tie in for two separate wires. LOL At least now it is straitened out.
