Simply a point of information request...no emergency!

... It could be closed off registers in parts of the home. They all need to be open in our types of homes ... ... Yep, all registers should remain open at all times. The ducts are made of thin aluminum and smaller than conventional housing and the change in static pressure could cause problems. That...

I just happened to catch this comment in passing by.

Are you saying that it isn't proper to close off a register in a room that perhaps gets a bit too warm?

Thanks....Bill

Menards..

Really what it comes down to is store management. The Home Depot in your area my be bad, but one in the next big town over may be the best thing since sliced bread. Of the big box stores, my first preference is Menards, then Lowes then Home Depot. I too don't like the layout of Home Depot. Mark Mar...

I work for a Ford dealership, and one of the mechanics there told me that he would rather work all day long on inside dualies, rather than wiring problems!!

RE: Step Frames...

Thank you Harry.

They don't seem to have what I want, at least not on their website. So maybe I'll give them a call and see if they can help me out.

Again, thanks to you for your reply.

Step Frames...

I'm looking for a place that carries JUST the frames for mobile home steps. I would prefer the aluminum frames (much lighter), but would settle for the wrought iron ones. I will get the PT wood steps put on the frames, and also plan to enclose the entire unit with skirting to match what is on my hom...

RE: This Old Trailer Online

Apparently my comments about the use of the word "trailer" fell on over-sensitive ears! Someone obviously overlooked the "wink" at the end of my post! My comments were NOT meant to put anyone down, even if, in some cases, their reply is possibly inaccurate. 1. I never described a...

RE: This Old Trailer Online

I'm trying...I really am...but that word is getting on about the last nerve I have! I know...like water off a duck's back...let it go! Still trying!!! :( I suppose it somewhat natural to call homes made in 60's and earlier THAT name! But, I live in a 1974 house..home..at worst...a MOBILE HOME! I do ...

Water supply.....

For plumbing gurus--- After having a serious water leak once when no one was home, I definitely will, from now on, turn off my main water supply valve, when I'm going on vacation! My question is this....Will simply turning off the Main Supply Valve have any adverse effect on my gas water heater? May...
