RE: Turned on Heat and......

You did not state what kind of heat you have. If it is a heat pump the outside unit will run as a first stage heat. If it is a gas or oil furnace you probably have something wired wrong and since you replaced the thermostat that would be the first place i would look.

RE: Nordyne BTU questions.

Just for fun I looked up the heat exchanger part numbers. The M1MB 77 part number is 903415 The M1MB 90 part number is 903416 The exact description of the heat exchangers is also is a bit different which means the they do have different size heat exchangers so a conversion would not be economically ...

RE: Compressor buzzing...

I think you have locked rotor since you amp draw is so high. Probably time for a new unit or compressor replacement. Usually a new unit is better because you will get a 5 year warranty.

You could always try a capacitor or add a heard start kit to try and rock it loose.

RE: Nordyne BTU questions.

I would not recommend any home owner to try and over fire a unit. It might be able to be done but a professional will have to see if there are any differences in capacity of the heat exchangers and usually there are. What I am saying to you is NO unless you have a professional look at the furnace,ch...

RE: Pilot is Lit, burner won't light

Your high limit control may have tripped during the very hot weather like mine did or for any other reason. Near the blower on top of the furnace you should find a round switch with wires on it, There should be a red push button in the center of the switch. Push the red button down to reset and see ...

Mark. I just got off the phone with the kook Seal people. They make the product that Lowes sells. What I found out was very interesting. Lowes requested a very high solids formula for there in store Kool Seal brand. The lady at Kool Seal told me that the Lowes Kool Seal products are actually better ...

RE: anticipator settings?

There are no magic settings because it takes the current draw of the gas valve and all the other circuits on the heat side of the system to set it absolutely correct and this varies with the install, length of thermostat wire, gas valve current ETC to set the anticipator. I always use a Amprobe. to ...

RE: Blower problems

According to the part number you gave here is the address to get your motor. The new part number is 7966-311P. Both the old and new motors do not need a run capacitor. NOTE You may also need a molex connecor. There is a line to click for the molex connector in the same exact area as where the motor ...

RE: Electric furnace cheaper than a propane furnace these da

There is such a thing called manual D that is like a code book for proper duct sizing/calculating BTU requirements. Yes you can disconnect a bank of elements to be on the safe side. Good luck with your project. You can also do it the fast and easy way but not as accurate. If the new furnace is withi...

RE: Blower problems

It looks like your motor might be getting to the of its useful life. You may try changing the capacitor for the motor first to see if that solves the problem. usually when a motor runs for 30 to 60 seconds it is going out on the internal overload. The next time it does this shut off the power and fe...

I understand. I would not go any larger on a furnace than what you have now. most homes have a furnace just a bit to large to start with so you should not add any more BTU's than you have now. If you really feel you need a bigger one then I would make sure the duct work will handle the extra BTU. I ...

It is wild turkey around here. We are actually overloaded with turkey and deer and they should be thinned out as they can cause car accidents from being in the road or running across it. Do not forget that permit or license. Down at camp I was under the impression that since I owned the land that ri...

RE: wood trim on a fireplace

What you have is a problem with clearance to combustibles. In a mobile home the HUD restrictions are much tuffer than for a regular home. The big problem is not that a live ember gets to the wood and causes a fire but the fact that the wood becomes heat soaked and self combusts with out a live flame...
