RE: Selling my house

Hey Texas2007, Where in the Texas Panhandle do you live? I live in Amarillo..we might be neighbors!! We have considered selling our house in the past and have friends that have sold theirs, so I totally understand what you went through with the realtor. I hate to say this, but unfortunately, here in...

RE: painting exterier

Hi Heather, Originally our house was slate blue with white trim and no shutters. Seven years ago, we repainted it custard yellow, added white shutters and kept the trim white also. We love it...the greenery such as the shrubs, flowers and especially our red climbing rose (on a white lattice) really ...

Harry, We were just in Florida over the holidays visiting some friends near Gainsville, and they took us to Cedar Key! It was beautiful...we ate at a restaurant on the water; I ordered the special "soft shell crab sandwich". I was expecting it to be a crab cake on bread, but it was a whole...

RE: Cork Floors

Thanks for all your input! We just got back from spending the holidays with some friends in Florida and they have hardwood and stone floors. So...I think that I have about decided to go with the vinyl tiles and planks that imitate hardwood and stone tiles. I have looked at those products before and ...

Cork Floors

Has anyone installed cork floors in their mobile homes? Several years ago we installed wood laminate floors in our kitchen and laundry room and we have not been pleased with them. I would like ceramic tile but have heard that ceramic is not a good option for mobile homes due to movement and shifting...

RE: Musty smell

Thanks for the responses. Yanita, the ground barrier may be the best solution...my husband will just be overjoyed at the thought of crawling around under the house :) As I said in my post, we do have vents in the skirting and my husband even added extra vents, so I don't think that ventilation is th...

Musty smell

About this time of year, once the air conditioner is not running full time and the weather hasn't gotten cold enough for the furnace to kick in, we notice an odd, musty smell in our house; more so when it is humid out. Our house is not on a concrete foundation so I am pretty sure that a lot of the s...

RE: Granite countertops

Yanita, I appreciate your input! The slab that we are looking at is very light with some gold in it. We have right at 50 square feet of counter space; that includes an island with a range and a bar area. After reading the posts last night, we looked at the construction of the cabinets and island. Th...

RE: Granite countertops

Thank you to everyone that responded to our question. We were originally thinking about the granite tiles but after talking to people that had them in their stick built houses and later wished that they had gone with the slab, we started looking at granite slabs. Yanita, sorry! I posted my question ...

We special ordered it and have had it for 15 years and we have constantly been upgrading it. About 10 years ago, we ...
