Re: Fire trap
I've lived in this very nice park for 21 years as of last month. Of the 5 fires that have taken place here 1 was an underground transformer fire, 1 fire in an unattached large shed used as a wood shop-damaged adjacent home but home was repaired and shed replaced, 1 wood stove malfunction-destroyed h...

Re: Loud popping noises
Our 1990 single makes all sorts of noises. There is the snapping sound the ductwork makes when ever the heat comes on as the ducts expand and contract. Our home sits on good 'ole Adams County clay so it is prone to movement by frost heaving. It's like a slow motion roller coaster ride. The house occ...

Re: new pex plumping
We had the same thing done on our 1990 Skyline. I had the "Mobile Home only" professionals replace gray pipe with Pex. They used old water lines to pull new lines through, then cut the underbelly to make connections at junctions. I had them back twice to repair underbelly. I repaired sever...

Relevel completed!
Well I finally had the home releveled today. Cost $300.00 and took a couple of hours. They even used a water level :P It was off at the rear 4.5 inches as well as side to side. The only casualties are a split (not cracked, split) wall in the one bathroom and the wall paper in the dining room is wrin...

Re: Still looking for relevel
The process is covered in Mark's book, It is not a hard job at all. It requires a water level, Hyd. jack and a little time. Greg I have the book. I am concerned about the special situations of broken ribbons and the fact the home is 20 years old on clay soil. Frost heaves like roller coaster in the...

Re: Still looking for relevel
Chris, maybe check with local mobile home dealers, see if they have a couple of people they use....? Brenda That would be the aforementioned "doesn't look to bad to me" guy... He sets all the homes for the local dealer. The home he set up across the street 2 weeks ago looks out of level t...

Still looking for relevel
Hello all, I am still looking for someone who knows what they are doing to relevel my 1990 single wide in South Central Pa. I thought I found someone, but he stopped by when I wasn't home and told the park manager "it doesn't look to bad out of level to me" Well, a blind man can see it is ...

I guess I should say I am in a park, so pouring new footings is not an option.
