Re: Question about mobile home skirting?

I have this type of brick on a house I bought--I bought a house with 2 mobile homes on the same large lot. It looks just like brick until you get right up to it. Mine is not insulated. If you use this, you might do flower bed/landscape so the weed eater does not tear it up--maybe put something aroun...

Re: New Moderator

I am honored to be asked!!! I love to remodel and design houses. I found this forum in late 2009 when we were in the process of buying property with 2 mobile homes--1973 models in need of much love. I had tons of questions about everything involved with a mobile home and all of my questions were ans...

Re: Buying a mobile home park

I am a little late on this so you might have already decided--but the rent a month will be 850 unless you raise it--67000 is for the land only? Have you checked into insurance and taxes and any other cost---do you pay any utilties---some parks pay water/sewage and garabage--will you have maintainanc...

Re: Little vent windows

Hi we just finished replacing windows and doors in 2--1973 mobile homes. If you are going to replace with vinyl siding---the windows can be any size you want --that will work with your home and budget--you can just pick up stock windows--not custom order sizes---we have window companies @ my area an...

Re: OSB board underneath porch

Not sure of the wording in your post but your metal roof should have used special screws with a rubber gasket for the roof, then is required to have felt paper under metal roof or it voids the warranty on the roof--we just had one put on our house --the metal will sweat. And the worry of any mold is...

Re: Seeking insulation advice/minimizing heat loss in traile

I looked at your MH and it looks in great shape, new carpet or laminate, some new light fixures, a good primer and paint for the walls(Looks like you have the vinyl printed wall board ,not paper wall paper) with new trim and maybe crown molding, new curtains and you will have a wonderful home. The kit...

Re: A question about windows

I hope I can explain it--you push in the buttons on the windows, both at the same time and the window will come out at this area and then slide in a track at the other end and if you twist the window it will come out--oh it works best if the window is up--it give u more room to work--good luck--some ...

Re: musty vents

I know older MH vents are made of a heavy cardboard/foiled combo, not sure when this changed or has changed to regular metal duct work---in the past year we have removed 2 sets of duct work from older 1973 MH and in both cases both ends of the duct work had opened up--they were just stapled with lik...

Re: Self-leveling concrete floor

I personaly do not think it would work, a MH has so much flex even walking across it, a second story of a house is not made with 2x4 floors--minimum is usually 2x8 or 2x10 and some are made with engineer floor joices. I would check with the maker of the product as any warrenty would be voided if not...
