Where do I find the model number on my Coleman?
I have a question about our Coleman, but I need to find the model number before I can ask.... The previous owners left some paperwork, but the only number I can find on those papers is 9155. I notice that all the other people here have much longer numbers, but I can't find a number on the unit. It's...

Can't remove shower arm
I'm trying to put a low-flow shower head in our fiberglass tub/shower. I've swapped out many a shower head in my day, but the one in our MH has me stumped. First, the old, wasteful shower head is attached to the shower arm, so I need to remove the entire shower arm. But when I try to do so...no matt...

@ Harry: The ceiling fan here isn't very good. So we used to use one of our air circulator fans to blow cooler air up into the peak of the ceiling. But the air at the top is so hot, that it just makes the A/C work harder to cool it when it comes down. :( Our attic space (over the rest of the house) ...

Your problem seems to be large poorly insulated windows. To fix that you either need to increase the conditioned air to the room (probably difficult and costly), or decrease the heat gained through the windows (much easier). Your best bet will be to either put solar screens to block the sun but kee...

RE: Stopping frost heave
Does this apply if your MH is set on a permanent foundation? Or is frost heave only a problem with skirted MH's?

Re: RE: Outdoor water spigot problem
HI, I don't have my mobile home anymore, but when I did, my boyfriend at the time used to shut off my spigot in the winter, he said to stop it from freezing, cause it dripped. Turns out that the reason the previous owners had the outdoor plumbing set up this way is that the previous pipes DID freez...

RE: Outdoor water spigot problem
Mark, you were right on the money! My neighbor called the former owners of this MH, and they told us where it was. Oddly enough, though, the "pipe" that the valve is on looks more like an automobile hose than an actual pipe. Question: Now that we know how to turn the valve on and off, how ...

If it is near an indoor sink check for a valve under the sink. I tied ours in under the kitchen sink with a valve there to keep the kids from turning it on and for freezing weather. Greg So it IS possible that there's a separate shutoff valve, then? I checked where you suggested (as the spigot is n...

Re: The aftermath - Iowa floods of 08
I do hope the rain slows and/or subsides for a long enough period, that it can dry out in Iowa. The people there have had enough suffering. It's no surprise that you folks felt helpless, given that we humans are just no match for mother nature on a rampage. :( Best wishes and prayers from a neighbor...

Outdoor water spigot problem
We were told that the previous owners of our MH had gotten new plumbing put in. But the outdoor spigots are a mystery. The rear one looks as if it was neatly torn out of the wall, and the front one--which does look new--doesn't work when I turn it on. No water, no air, no sound, nothing. I was think...

Re: RE: My Oasis in the Desert
[quote="jinx" Yes that is a swamp cooler in the background. They only work good when you have dry heat like we have. During the monsoon season they aren't worth much as the humidity is too high. Also, when it gets to be around 110 and above they don't do a good job. When we got our new pla...

Re: RE: "Cathedral ceiling" is trapping really hot
Irish I'm going to take a stab at this but mostly it's just some suggestions. First and foremost..hot air rises..it's just thermo-dynamics. Simple and easy to comprehend..eh? That part I understand. :) I realize that the ceiling is a cathedral type... and there isn't much "attic" room... ...
