would it be better to take current walls down and put in 1/2 sheetrock or go over what's there (not damaged) with thinner sheetrock?

we are buying a 2002 liberty. SW 16x64

does anyone know if there is a beam running down the middle of the ceiling? it is vaulted.

if not we want to run a support beam up there for my son's swing (he's disabled)

anyone see any problem with this.

don't know what shape the osb is in. we are not there yet. covering the osb would be easier than taking it out and i thought maybe it would give even more support?? we will NOT cover damaged osb if it is not in good shape we will remove and replace with plywood. ive just read some debates on whether...
