Re: TPO Roofs?
You might contact Perma Roofs from Southern Builders they may have an idea.We had them put on a new roof on our sw(dome) and it is awesome. They put 3"foam sheets then steel roof panels over that, said the wind test for their roof system was over 200mph and no lift.Friendly people too.

Drywall Hat Channel
I am wanting to drywall my ceiling on my SW mobile. The trusses are 2x2 and was wondering if installing drywall hat channel perpendicular on the trusses would distribute the weight of the drywall over a larger area thus taking the major load off the trusses.I will be installing 3/8"drywall and t...

Re: My Mobile Roof
Greg, that is what it feels like but it is flat not corrugated. What types of roofs were done in the 1974-1978 years?I think this is a 1976 Fleetwood.

Re: My Mobile Roof
It does not feel like rubber,it feels like a fiber composite or fiberglass composite.Stiff but pliable and the only thing I can compare it to is the fiber type roof that is used on some small storage buildings.I was at Lowes awhile back and noticed they sell a type of corrugated fiber roofing and th...

My Mobile Roof
This may be a dumb question but this is the first MH we have owned so here goes,I read here that people talk about metal roofs on their MH and I was looking at ours and it looks like some type of fiber composite. It looks as if it were molded to fit over the existing roof,it has molded "V" ...

Aluminum Wiring
I hope this does not fit under the "can not answer"portion of electrical.I was wondering what problems people had or have with the aluminum wire used in older MH.Before I do a re-wire I thought I would see if the problem(s) can be located to certain areas such as dryers or AC units etc.

Re: Foam Board Ceiling
I was planning on leaving a 1/8"gap for movement although we are east Texas and there seemed to be no movement on this trailer since it was set in 1976.I was planning on using metal junction boxes screwed to rafters for all lights and ceiling fans to hang from.I believe there will be a very str...

Foam Board Ceiling
Hello again all.We are going to do a complete ceiling replacement and re-wire on our sw and my idea is to install 1/2"foamboard on ceiling rafters and install the lightweight tin ceiling panels over the foamboard. This seems to me to be a way of getting extra insulation and also keeping the weig...

ac closet door?
We have purchased a Fleetwood SW 1976 model last year. The central AC unit is located in the entrance hall and is open for all to view as you enter the living area.I was wanting to install a full length louvered door to hide. Will this interupt the flow of return air or is this doable? Also was wonderi...
