Re: cinch clamps vs crimp for pex
wanted to know if the PEX A Aquapex wirsbo is the same diameter as the pex red and blue sold at the big orange box store? as that guy at the big box store said they are different sizes??? Probably to just look at them and measure them they would be the same or at least very close but the fittings a...

Re: cinch clamps vs crimp for pex
PEX Type A is supposed to be freeze bust proof. If i recall the numbers correctly, frozen water expands 13% and Type A can expand 19% before bursting. And that expansion does not compromise strength in that area, it just goes back to normal size when it thaws. Type B, is pretty much the same as CPVC...

subfloor over DW center seam marriage area
"IF" i replaced subfloor in a DW that has been on same foundation 35 years, (not concerned about relocation issues) should I stagger seams to go over and across the center marriage seam where the 2x6's of each half were butted together OR should I maintain the original separation seam down...

Re: double wide subfloor (center seam) question
thanks for the response! The possible problems down the road from eliminating the marriage line; are these problems relating to moving the home or other type issues? I'd definitely like to avoid "other type issues" I might be setting myself up for? The home has been sitting 35 years and se...

double wide subfloor (center seam) question
Looking at flooring options on my double wide and I have a question concerning the "marriage" section. Most areas, there is a wall on it so no issue. BUT, In one area of house it is an open area that expands entire width for about 15 feet. (1) IF I remove current subfloor and replace with ...

Re: cinch clamps vs crimp for pex
I'll chime in with what I've learned through recent experience with PEX plumbing. 1. All pex is NOT created equal. OR installed equally for that matter. Type A is the really cool stuff, but requires a special tool to connect "the best" way. AN EXPANDER tool, and they are not cheap. BUT it ...

Re: porch flooring repair
thanks for the replies. It looks like my best bet is to leave the existing metal in place. Yes, it is "warped" or something and gives the impression of "unstable". But the subfloor is fine. Except for the edges that won't hold screws to hold the rounded metal edge cover in place....

porch flooring repair
This site has provided lots of valuable information since I purchased my mobile home months ago. I have a 1984 Fleetwood. A built in porch is on both front and back door. By "built in" i mean it is part of the "rectangle shape" of the trailer; under the roof of the trailer. They ...
