Emergency roof repair help needed.

I have a '68 Winston MH. We had an unusual 7.5-inch snow about three weeks ago. Since then we have had frequent rains. The past week has seen a lot of steady rain with intermitting down pours. This MH has a bow roof. The snow, plus the rain, has broken all the bows on one end, over the master bedroo...

Re: Total Remodel

WoW! The place looks great.A remodel with a half acre here only brings around $30,000.

It would be mandatory.

Re: Ceiling options

I just found this product. Not sure about the weight.I would surely look better than drop ceiling panels. http://www.homedepot.com/b/Building-Materials-Ceilings-Ceiling-Tiles/TopTile/N-5yc1vZc58lZbro I had a look at this and got a quote on supplies.Almost $3000 to do the entire ceiling in my 12x60.I...

Watch the video. These panels should work great for DIY,but they may get spendy.

Re: Ceiling options

I'm looking for the same thing.I thought about using sheetrock but was unsure if it'd work due to weight.

Re: New guy,odd roof shape with broken bow frames.

Ok.We decided to pull the interior ceiling. It needs to be replaced anyway. It's sagging bad and breaking apart.I will inspect and replace the bows from inside.I've done this before many years ago. Then I will do a conventional roof over. My question now is how do I finish the edges of the roof over? I...

Re: New guy,odd roof shape with broken bow frames.

JD I understand what you're saying. The ripple is from a failed floor joist in that area along the outside wall,in an area where the frame doesn't have a support running to the outside wall.

Re: New guy,odd roof shape with broken bow frames.

Re: New guy,odd roof shape with broken bow frames.

I really have no other choice. All I can do is get a demo permit and tear it down.It was my dad's place and the place I have lived all my life.I have seen other trailers done with an A frame roof with the frames set on 24 inch centers and built with 2x6 studs. This is how my friends roof is done using...

Re: Under/inside roof/ceiling - redo vapor barrier?

Do your wiring first, leave a little slack in the wiring so insulation can be tucked up in the roof.My roof isn't vented, but the insulation goes from ceiling level to metal roof level.Remember not to compress the insulation.Run your vapor barrier. It should be tucked behind the wall vapor barrier and...

New guy,odd roof shape with broken bow frames.

I am in the process of planning a complete interior and exterior remodel.I was looking into doing a roof over but after inspection,I have found many broken bow frames under the metal roof along with many pin hole rust spots.Should I tear the entire metal roof off and build common rafters, like the n...
