RE: Painted plywood floors - new idea
Mobtek, that's coming along. I've heard good things about Bondo, but haven't had occasion to work with it. Are you thinking of sponging the entire floor instead of the b&w squares, or am I confused? If you do decide on painting tiles, what size would they be in that space? You could do both the ...

RE: Painted plywood floors - new idea
Oh, that purple is gorgeous! Compliments to the wife for her choice. :D And the white cabinet really looks good next to it. Keep the pics coming as you progress. I have a friend who painted his driveway in a faux brick. I saw the pictures and it did look nice. He said one of the colors lasted longer...

RE: Painted plywood floors - new idea
Thanks, Mobtek. Just wanted you to see what plain ol' primer and craft paint would look like after years of wear, if sealing it well. The b&w will look very nice with the black countertop. Can't wait to see pics. Be sure to include pics of the purple bathroom. I love PURPLE!!! I painted the insi...

Quote: " I could paint it with some heavy duty oil base paint and do some sort of faux finish - even fake tiles. Has anyone else tried this? Are there any special type of primers that I should use? I have painted faux tiles on a kitchen backsplash, but not on the floor. I have painted faux cobb...

I so agree with paint being the first way to go. My motto is: "Tools and Paint, make it what it Ain't."
Thanks for replying; I'll be looking for your pics.

Hi Curlylocks, I agree on the potential the DW has. I played around and came up with this. Thought you might get a kick out of it. Keep in mind that I can't figure out how to replicate glazing and such in Paint.

Hi Charley, it's a pleasure to meet a fellow faux finisher. (Say that 3 times fast) :D I love seeing and getting inspired by others' techniques, and I can't wait to see your pictures. Sounds like you have accomplished a lot! Like Greg said, that light at the end of the tunnel looks good, huh? Tell m...

I was wondering about the same thing as Yanita, but then I noticed you said that yours is vinyl covered. Does it have a texture to it, or is it a flat vinyl?

RE: New here, painting texturing etc...
Sounds like you have some busy times ahead. I haven't used texturing paint, but have used joint compound to texturize walls. The only thing I would suggest is, when filling the seams with joint compound, use the seam tape. I made this mistake once, and never again. I had used spackling, then ...

Wow, I'm so glad I checked back here. (Been painting while hubby's out of town) Good info. Audie, I think she said her's is a '93 mh. I know what you mean about it being "yours" and paid for. That means a lot! Greg, your cabinets look wonderful. Thanks for sharing; a visual always helps, a...

RE: Replacing Kitchen Cabinets
Thanks Yanita. I guess cabinets can go either way, decorating or repair. :) Yep, I'm a N.C. gal too. We love the mountains AND the beach, so our vacation home is a mh in a little town near North Myrtle Beach. Now, if I can remember which forum the cabinet question was posted on, I'll pass along your...
