RE: Always something happening here!

So it has started. Highway is closed again with more rock slide. My cousins yard will start flooding by this afternoon. We will all go over today to help get stuff out of their basement. The culvert along the river is no longer visible. I gotta go take pics of the trees raging down the river. One of...

Well Jim, maybe you can win the Lottery, cause I can't even win a Dollar or a free play. Raining here again. Had a few days of hot, and now back to rain. Jim's truck is goin South, mine is already there. Sitting in the driveway collecting pollen. Figures it would start raining on a school day. Now w...

RE: 2007 Hurricane Season

I'm glad you are ready. Between kids, work, and Reno's here, I'm not ready for what is coming. I need to get the porta-potty, solar panel, Coleman lantern, and extra propane tanks from the camper. Then I have to set the camper on blocks instead of saw-horses. Then I still have to make sure our place...

RE: Storing clothing

I use plastic totes to store the winter gear in the shed. They are fine. I sometimes tape around the edges though, just to make sure they don't pop open and get creepy-crawlies in them. I would rather use those space bags to compact everything down, but they are too expensive here.

RE: Always something happening here!

We were gone to Kincolith on the weekend when it happened. We heard it over the radios they use there. When they started to remove the dirt, more slid and I heard there were three other spots that started to slide. They got some of the semis through the junction, but found they were recking the road...

RE: Plants and Trees Dying Overnight?

I know this won't help you, but I had a problem with the ants(of course) and I pulled out a couple of my plants that were starting to look very bad, and found the roots infested with baby slugs. The only other problem I ever had was aphids.

Always something happening here!

Just to top off the threat off flooding, we had a major mudslide just out of town. None of the semis could get through to bring supplies(meat, veggies, etc.) to the store. The shelves are pretty bare in the stores. <http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2007/05/30/bc-slide.html> My hubby ha...

RE: New Toy

When I first saw the post for "New Toy" I thought for sure it was going to be a quad, truck, or a boat. I never did finish lessons as a kid. I should have. I would love to be-able to play. Now a days, I just don't have the time to learn. Nice purchase JD.Too bad we can't hear you play!

If I didn't have so much running around to do that requires tools and kids, I would definitely park my truck. I think I'll fly next holiday too.

So, all in all our prices in Canada are about the same as the U.S. You pay by the gallon and we pay by the litre. Still outragous!

With the increased cost of EVERYTHING, I really don't know how anyone on a fixed income can survive with bills, food and to do any fix-ups.

You want weird? My hubby was picked up on a warrant one time, only to find out there was another guy in Vancouver with the same name(First, middle and last ) that was the one with the warrant. They only found out with his social insurance number that they had the wrong guy.

I drive a Ford Explorer(and , yes I have heard the Ford Exploder jokes). It cost me $43.00 last year to fill, this year it cost me $60.00. This is ridicules. Our pick-up costs over $110. to fill. The boat is gonna cost a fortune. Thank goodness it needs work this year, and probably won't see the riv...

RE: Inside windows

I think shelves with nic-nacs that can be enjoyed from both sides. I'm all for fancy candle holders, or tealight holders instead of ceramic ornaments. Or maybe even a cube picture holder so pics of the family can be seen from both sides. I used to have a pic holder that dangled, so I could have a pi...
