Hello,

A company in my area came by and said they wouldn't service my heater because it is in poor condition (the inside wall is chewed up a little, there's black soot inside, outside of furnace has black burn marks, and also another problem being carbon monoxide may mix in, he said). I have a Coleman gas heater (Model # 8655D766) that needs to be replaced in my 1972 manufactured home (I just moved in so haven't used it previously, but it is my understanding that the previous owner did). Coldmen of California is the company I talked with and according to him apparently been working on manufactured home heaters for 40 years. He seemed a little too sales-y talking but maybe he doesn't realize what he sounds like or maybe the competition is rough so they have to work a little harder. The old heater is 56,000 BTUH output (70,000 input) so they are going to use the same BTUH for the new Coleman. The brochure says model # DGAA070BDTA so I assume this is the one they will be using.

Does anyone know of any good reputable and do a good job company in Fresno, California?

Thank you!

Hi,

Get more than one estimate and compare them. You should have an ACCA Manual J Load Calculation done to know size unit needed.

Contact JD from here at [email protected] .

He is in the Fresno area and doesn't do hvac, but has been in mobile home repair for over 20 years there.

He probably can give you some info and leads on who to call.

Thanks,
Robert

Coldmen is the company I always recommend to my mobile home customers. They are an authorized Coleman dealer/repair company and are very familiar with mobile homes. I am sure there are cheaper services out there, but you are taking your chances on their knowledge and workmanship. Coldmen have fair industry standard prices and excellent customer service and reputation. I believe they are part of the Donald P Dick HVAC company here in Fresno, also a top name in this area.

I bet Coldmen must have 30 trucks working our area, so they have many guys that are familiar with mobile homes. Also, if the guy has any problems or questions, they have immediate back up. I would bet their successful service call rate is 100%.

Absolutely stay away from the unlicensed guys like you find in Craigslist or any other source.
