My back porch/laundry room has an interior door that goes into the main part of the home. The door has a large slatted vent in it. I' assuming that it is some kind of return air control as the A/C fan and heater is on the back porch.

Anyway, I would like to replace this door and was wondering if I could replace it with a regular door without having to cut out the area for ventilation. This door stays open 99% of the time and there is another door off this area that goes to a bathroom. This door also stays open. Also, there is a good amount of gap at the bottom of the doors when they are closed.

Hi,

When the door is open, it's ok, but when closed, ti would need that same amount of air spece getting to it.

Otherwise, it could harm the unit if it did not receive appropriate amount of air.

Take care and best wishes,
Robert
