RE: connecting old poly to pex

You can order a Pex pocket crimper from this website that is reasonably priced. Whatever crimper you choose make sure you use a GO-NO/GO gauge on each crimp. Sharkbites are not compatible with poly pipe according to their website. Another option to consider is order the Poly-Pex transition fittings ...

RE: Roofing Help Needed.

It may just be the way the top picture looks but it seems like you are showing at least half of your roof. How are you exhausting the heat and moisture below your roof deck and above your ceiling? I don't see any vents.

RE: Why....doesn't my water stay hot?

Just a few suggestions to look into. 1. What kind of water piping do you have (poly, pex, cpvc)? 2. As Gregg suggested install a new drain pan underneath the heater if one is not there and run a drain to the outside. 3. See if your system may need a thermal expansion tank installed along with the hea...

Brian if you are planning on buying this year it will be the last year you can have a choice between R-22 refrigerant or R410A. Next year all newly manufactured units will be R410A. They will not stop making the refrigerant R-22 it will be available for a long while. I will agree the installer and s...

RE: Heat Pump Operating in AC Mode

It will produce more water if the air inside has a lot of humidity in it. The 60deg days would be better if it was raining out. As far as temp goes the lower the temp is outside the pressure in the system drops ( you know those gauges you always see us use) which can cause your coil to start freezin...

RE: Electrical Engineer allowed to do Electrical work?

First let me say that this does not apply to all Electrical engineers. Some elec.eng. are not electricians they have very little knowledge of residential or commercial wiring codes or common wiring applications for houses. They may have a degree but some are not up to date on the latest code practic...

Teatime, they just cut an opening in the block the size of a foundation vent with a concrete saw at the required intervals. The vents are installed in the top row of block.

I have had concrete block with a stuco finish on the exterior for over 14 years now with no problems. Most new double wides you see around here now have block or brick skirting.

I will have to agree 100% with Robert. There is a lot of quick fixes on HVAC equipment that as service techs we hear about from other techs and not from the factory. However every piece of equipment that is manufactured is submitted to meet certain safety standards. No tech should ever alter a safet...

RE: Intertherm Heat pump issue? need help!! model T3Q

If your wiring looks ok and your air-handler runs fine in the fan only and emergency heat mode and you have never had to reset a breaker then heres where it gets tricky. You would have to have a meter a set of jumpers, and a lot of knowledge on the wiring diagram to pinpoint the problem. The possibil...

RE: Intertherm Heat pump issue? need help!! model T3Q

Have you just installed the programable t-stat or has it been installed for awhile and everything has been working fine in the heat/cool and emergency heat mode? The reason I ask is that it sounds like you have a short somewhere in your 24v side of the system. If you just installed the stat you have...
