Re: windows-replace or take out completely????
All good answers. Now let's get real! Replacement windows or no windows means making a mess of your interior and exterior walls. You really need to sit, stare and picture what will happen. Picture an errant vehicle coming through your wall. Now you can picture how to fix the big hole in your wall. I...

Re: allure vinyl ultra click plank flooring
I love pictures! Here is a closeup shot of proper wall spacing before I finish the shoe molding. Also a shot of the kitchen to living room transition as an example of what you can do. Practice, practice! Yep, HouseMedic, every once in awhile my molding nail heads downward and has to be repositioned.

Re: Water Heater Help
The drain is a foot up from the tank bottom? If it was electric I would say check the breaker. Then hook up a hose and turn the drain on and off a few times as they tend to get flakey just sitting there doing nothing for decades. Yes, i would turn off the gas at this point and wait for the pro. No, ...

Re: allure vinyl ultra click plank flooring
Here's the perfect link to show all you will ever need to know. It should also make you think about the manufacturers "Ease of installation" claims. Not everyone has the necessary manual skills and I might add, patience, at times. This type of flooring and myself go back many years. Practi...

Re: allure vinyl ultra click plank flooring
Something you all might ponder. Is the floor not going to have furniture on it or as some as you have seen fit to dramatize putting anything on the floor is a no-no. Stop and think. It is a floor. It will be buried under heavy furniture. Wall to wall. Might hit a ton! And it's all on top of the floor.

Re: allure vinyl ultra click plank flooring
Sorry for the delay. Here's a few pictures of the 1970 I'm remodeling. Since the cabinets were in, the flooring just butts to them. Since the stove and the refrigerator are easily movable, the flooring is under them. This is Home Depot's cheapest Trafficmaster Glentown Oak locking/floating laminate ...

Re: questions on electric wiring?
Ponch is 100% correct. There are areas where homeowners may legally do anything to their home. There are areas that are not covered by any rules. But you have to ask yourself, "Do I feel lucky today?". That's what it amounts to if you or a non-licensed person does the work.

Re: Should siding be sealed? Light shows all the way around.
Another "I just did it". That's exactly what mine looked like except they notched the back of the studs for the wire. Since, like you, I had the whole trailer wide open I opted to seal it all air tight. My exterior studs are a real 2 by 4 and I filled anything and everything with foam, ins...

Re: allure vinyl ultra click plank flooring
Having just installed about 600 sq ft of a similar flooring and my own preference for any flooring, flooring first. It just makes everything so much easier. Please read the install directions diligently. The internet is awash with complaints on installing "click" type flooring. It will tak...

Re: Are real gutters possible? Water runs down the sides
Since I completely remodeled my single wide, I had it easy looking for holes in the skin. Removing walls and insulation revealed all. Kinda obvious with the sun shining through. Holes but no leaks that I could see. All the holes seemed to be missing siding screws or where something was screwed on an...

Re: Are real gutters possible? Water runs down the sides
Water running down the sides of anything outside when it rains I believe would be inevitable. Just the other day here in mid-state NY, the rain was blowing down sideways for quite awhile. My trailer has a gazillion screws, no gutters and no water entry. What I'm saying is take care of the water entr...

Amazon has more listed than you really want to thumb through! Just input "bathroom exhaust damper". Good luck!
