OK that's fine for when it was summer and temps were high. Problem still persists now that its cooler. My unit does not have AC regardless. Where else should I be looking?

Re: furnace not responding to thermostat
Are you asking how hot it was before or after the furnace was running? The day it happened was warm/hot to begin with. When it happenedthe temp went sky high over 100 degrees.

furnace not responding to thermostat
I have a MGHA 077ABFC-01 77k BTU I came home one day in June and the furnace was running full blast even though the thermostatwas in the off position. Didn't matter what I did with thermo it would not shut down. I had to shut furnace off manually on unit itself. This happened once before about 18 mo...

Re: 1994 Commodore hot water
To my recollection its only got one element, and the system is on municipal water, not well water. I could try to replace the thermostat as my next solution.

1994 Commodore hot water
I have a 1994 12x56 sitting hard by the jersey shore. The water pipes are wrapped with heating tape that runs all the time. Modulating the hot water is very difficult, particularly in the bathroom which is butting up against the hot water heater. Theres plenty of hot water at the bath and kitchen fa...

Re: Smell in the cabinets
I have a similar funky smell in my cabinets in my 1994 unit. both bathroom and kitchen cabinets have the same odor, smells a little like mold but not really. I put those moisture absorbing pellets and it helps a little, but its still unpleasant. I smell it my wife is indifferent to it.

Need HVAC installer recommendation Monmouth county NJ
Hi, I need to install a new furnace in my mobile home. I'm asking for a recommendation or referral for an HVAC tech who can do the install in MONMOUTH county NJ. Simple coleman 56k unit is fine, 80% efficiency, no AC, with roof jack. Got a few estimates, but don't feel good about them, trust issues w...

baseline price on 56k furnace
I might have to replace the very old furnace in my 1960's unit. I only want a basic model, no AC. Is there a baseline price I can use for comparison, so when the quotes start coming, I know who's in the ballpark and whos just gouging?
Thanks

coleman 7956-856 flame spreader HELLLP
Just told that the "flame spreader" for my Coleman Direct Vent 7956-856 56k BTU furnace is no longer available. Unit is probably original to the trailer which would put it at over 40 years old. I've got a tenant in the unit and its getting cold in NJ, is there ANYWHERE I can find this repl...

Re: wind blows down vent and snuffs furnace
Greg, are you referring to the "spinning" caps I see on commercial business, that remind me of jiffy pop popcorn bags?

wind blows down vent and snuffs furnace
I live on the bay and in the winter we get fierce wind blowing right off the water in NJ. Several times a year a gust of wind blows so hard that it comes back down the roof vent and snuffs the furnace out. Trying to relight it with matches is a miserable task, so I moved onto a small butane torch wh...

Re: heating coil in elec HW heater
Thanks Greg, thats kind of the direction I was leaning, couldn't see how the supply house would sell me incorrect item when looking at the original, I brought them. I'll go ahead with the swap and hope for a nice hot shower in the future.

heating coil in elec HW heater
First posting. My hot water is not lasting very long in my 30 gal elec heater, decided to replace coil as starting point. Previous owner left old coil with unit as an example, took it to supply house and they sold me one that looks just like it except that original is copper and new one looks alumin...
