Inside Coils Froze Up

Yesterday during the evening I noticed that it seemed kind of warm and checked the thermostat and sure enough it was 82. I shut the A/C down and after a while I started it back up. I checked the registers and the air was cool but not as cold as it normally is. I shut it off again and started calling...

RE: Wind Blowing Up Kitchen Floor

We don't have skirting. The home is set at ground level. http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i153/jinky1/House%20pic/100_0276.jpg Here you can see in the front that it has an opening in the front. There is also one in the back. For air flow. See where the screen is right below the electrical cord? htt...

Re: RE: My Oasis in the Desert

Thanks for the pics, I noticed in one of them that there is a unit of some type that sits on the roof...is that by chance what you call a swamp cooler? We don't use them here. Again, keep us posted on your progress. Yanita Yes that is a swamp cooler in the background. They only work good when you h...

Here we have to pay for dirt. And it is not cheap. I would gladly trade you rocks for dirt. I will update later.

My Oasis in the Desert

A year ago our mobile burnt down and we had a new home put back on our lot. We have been working on the landscaping. It is difficult because there is so much rock. We have a ways to go but I wanted to share what we have done. I have before and after pics. Before: http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...

RE: Can osb boards on floor be sealed and stained?

We are building a shed and using OSB for the floor. We put down a stain/sealer because we thought the floor may sit for a while before we got the walls up. We thought right. It has been sitting in the sun for about six months and looks very nice.

RE: Wind Blowing Up Kitchen Floor

I'm going to send a certified letter to the MH company(still under warranty) and tell them they need to get on this. It's been almost a month since I contacted them about it. After they receive the letter and I don't hear from them I will hire an inspector to find out what is going on. I have 3 thin...

RE: Wind Blowing Up Kitchen Floor

Thank you so much Yanita for that link. I think that the problem is with the underbelly. I suspect there is a problem under the kitchen. I am unable to get under it right now as I just had knee surgery, but I will ASAP. Thanks everyone.

The vinyl floor is a "floating" floor with only perimeter glue. Most of the time air from duct gets under edges at vents but in your case it is probably coming from the joint where the halves were connected. Does the vinyl cover the joint? If so ..thats your problem It is definitely not f...

RE: anyone ever added double wide onto stick built home

Back in the 60's an Uncle of mine had a travel trailer and started building a home. He built the outside frame of the house and built a breezeway between the house and trailer. I think it was only about a 6 ft breezeway. After he finished the house he just took down the breezeway and moved the trail...
