Re: What kind of shims for leveling?

Thanks for all the advice .. My husband tends to be a perfectionist as well .. I guess that is why this seems so out of our ballpark .. kinda like, how in the world can two people and a jack raise and level a doublewide? Maybe with lots of preparation beforehand and it won't seem so overwhelmi...

Re: What kind of shims for leveling?

Thanks for all the replies .. This kinda seems over our heads .. we live in a park and we can't leave off siding for a week at a time waiting for the house to settle either unfortunately .. I'm not sure how far off our home is, I'm sure it is to a point .. but don't think we are ready to conquer suc...

Re: What kind of shims for leveling?

Hmm .. so even after you relevel your home, you may need to go back in 6 months and do it again?

Re: What kind of shims for leveling?

Must be because I haven't read the online instructions for leveling homes but this is all confusing to me .. our cement pads are in the ground and then cement cinder blocks with wood shims sit on top of the piers .. is that what you guys are all working with as well?

Re: What kind of shims for leveling?

Hmm .. This seems like a serious job .. Does it require a lot of knowledge in mobile home repair? Are there usually cracks in the drywall on the inside you need to fix after you level it? Is it safe doing it with just one person?

Re: A question about products sold on here

Thanks for the reply. I'm not real sure what the rips look like under the house .. I've never been under and my husband swears he is too large to fit by the hitches to really check things out .. I'm assuming there might be some larger sized holes in the underbelly so we might need to do the fastenin...

Re: Total Remodel

haha great catch!! Thanks for the paint info .. we were trying to find a nice green for our living room and dining room .. but after painting every green shade on the wall none looked right .. when that failed, we tried it in the guest bedroom which also was a fail .. I'm still searching for that pe...

Re: New Here

wow, that does seem a lot cheaper then what we were quoted .. But I did only call the one company .. It's frustrating that we can't move the home onto land and have it financed by the bank .. I mean, in the end we'll owe the bank more money if they let us borrow for land, basement, well, septic, dri...

Re: A question about products sold on here

Thanks for the replies .. I watched the video that was on here somewhere, where he showed how to fix a hole in the underbelly .. he just used the spray adhesive .. we have no personal experience with either product but the spray stuff seemed pretty quick and easy to use ..

A question about products sold on here

My husband and I were looking at the products sold on this page and we were wondering what the pro's/con's are to using the adhesive in a spray can while doing underbelly repairs vs using the belly mend tape while doing repairs .. is one better to use then the other?

Re: New Here

Hmmm .. well I don't think we'll be able to get our mortgage down low enough to be able to move it any time soon .. I don't know if our park will charge us to move out the house or not .. I do know that several homes in the park have left .. Not sure where too, other parks maybe? When we called arou...
