I have a few apple trees but most of the fruit gets eaten by earwigs and other pests, and I want to be prepared to prevent this next year. I'm hoping to avoid pesticides at all costs. I know that in some areas of the world (the Philippines, for example), some people start small fires under the trees in order to smoke out and kill the bugs.
