fuel type 1 and 2

hey guys can some one tell me in english the fuel types for fuel oil, my daughters furnace lable said it uses both type 1 and 2 , but i want to know what they are , like examples, the stuff in the tank smells like deisle, or kero. fuel comp just says 1 or 2 1 burns cleaner they say and thus cost more..

Type 1 is Kerosene, type 2 is heating oil.

Kero survives the cold with out gelling up, Heating oil will gel and plug the filter in cold weather (when you need the heat the most). If the tank were in a basement out of the cold it would be fine, but most mobile homes do not have that option.

Ask who's going to be supplying you oil what a safe mix is. For X amount out Oil you will need X amount of Kero . You do not have to go %100 kero. But you will have to mix some kero in with the regular oil in order to prevent the gellin.
