Blower works intermittently in auto.

Hello, we have a Nordyne "EZEH-015HA" 240v 1PH - 6HZ 53,000BTU electric furnace with AC. The fan is a 2-speed “2.0 FLA 1/5hp”. The problem has been reoccurring for a while now and we have replaced the control Circuit Board and the seemed to fix the problem for about 3 weeks but then it started again then we replaced the Run Capacitor and that seemed to fix the problem for another 2 weeks but now it is back to acting up again. Some times the blower will not start, the coils will heat up and we can hear a clicking noise like the motor is trying to start but it does not. It just sits there and gets real hot to where you would not like to keep your hand on it for more that a couple seconds. Then eventually it just stops trying and everything has to be reset and wait for the motor to cool. Or when it is trying to start and does not we have checked and found that when motor was hot we can flip the fan switch on the furnace to run and it starts right up and cools the motor right off then the rest of the furnace starts back up and the fan switch can be switched back to auto. Is there anything else that controls the motor or do you think the motor needs replaced? Thank You in advance for any help.

Hi,

The blower motor and elements are controlled by sequencers.

Sequencer # 01 - 0842 can be seen and ordered here by paging down :

Could be a bad sequencer or a bad motor.

Thanks,
Robert
