Evcon Presidential 7970-C856 - 3 questions..

1) - Are the filters supposed to be in the upper and lower door panels that just lift off the face of the unit? - I've looked and looked on the unit itself and then looked online and couldn't find anything except this:
http://americanhvacparts.com/Merchant2/ ... Code=af-wf
But that says its only for the upper door panel. Unfiltered air would still enter through the holes in the lower door panel.. - And air clearly IS entering though these panels as dust is collecting on the vents in them, both upper and lower..

At a guess, the previous owner simply removed the filters and never replaced them. - Possibly due to some issues as I can also see what appears to be relatively fresh permatex around a panel in the lower half of the unit.

2) - Is there a resource somewhere to get a manual on this unit? - None came with the home..

3) - It seems to cycle the blower fan for short bits (5-10 seconds) off and on after a long cycle. I'm thinking I may have a temp switch that might need replaced. Or is that normal for this unit?

Hi,

1- Foam filter clips # 7670-3451 and Foam Filter # 7660-3401

Both can be seen and ordered from here by paging down:

http://www.aberdeenhomerepair.com/store ... esults.php

It goes behind upper door panel. Lower panel does not have a filter as it is not part of return air pathway. It will however collect dust on the louvers with air flowing in that arae and settling there.

2- Go here to order a manual:

http://www.hvacmanuals.com/

3- It could be a bad fan switch or residual heat not getting dissipated quickly enough due to possible dirty furnace.

Thanks,
Robert
