Earlier this year a serviceman came out for a problem with the flame sensor. He said the flame was not hitting the sensor and he said it was due to a plugged heat exchanger so he pushed the baffle open. I have been searching and find a recall on the heat exchanger on this model. Does the serviceman's diagnosis sound correct or would it be most likely the heat exchanger is damaged and needs replacing? I have not heard of a plugged exchanger causing the pilot flame from hitting the flame sensor before. Recommendations please before I tell my mother to get the furnace replaced.
