How can I reinforce interior door frames?

Pulling out the nails from trim made me notice how the doorframes aren't as stable as I would like them to be, can I...
Add extra shims?
Add more nails?
Fill area between MDF doorframe and wood framing with something?
Help would be appreciated.

Hi
In my home you would have to remove the wall paneling and add studs and header.
Are you trying to make the rooms more secure?

here is an idea, if the doors just wiggle more than you like, or jump around when they are slammed, you could try to put in extra screws, and then drill holes and shoot some LOW EXPANDING foam insulation in the spaces between the frame and the inside of the wall.
it could stiffen them up some
I saw this method on
ASK THIS OLD HOUSE. Tommy used the foam to act as a glue in a basement glass block window install where they chose to only put fasteners into the top edge where there was wood, and used the foam as an adhesive, then trimmed it out.

The rooms are secure and all, I just noticed when replacing the trim and removing some nails the door frames didn't seem as "firm" as they should be, or at least I think they should be
