counter top makeover.

Well here I go again this time it is my kitchen I had some bad places on my counter but because of the shape of the island, short of spending a million to custom order stuff, I did a makeover. I had some of the old fashioned glue type laminate slate flooring so i brainstormed and put this down. I like the way it turned out now I just have to finish the wood trim around it to be done. I have sealed the top of the flooring in case water leaks and also I replaced the sink with one that I salvaged from a friends house.

Eblood, you're saying that you put the flooring on the countertop? It looks very nice in the picture. The sink went well with it too. I love thinking out of the box. Good job.

Hi, even tho things look nice, remember food safety! If me I would be sure to use a suitable cutting board all the time. I bet there are particles in that material not fit for preparing food on. But, I agree with your thinking outside the box.....but safety first.
