heat pump noise

have you got any ideals. why a heat pump would make a banging noise right before it goes into defrost mode.it bangs hard enough to really shake the linesets. any thoughts anyone?? thanks

Faulty reversing valve/rev. valve solonoid maybe.

You're very welcome. Just a guess from here, but since it reverts back to a/c mode for defrost, rev. valve/rev. valve sol. are in the act.

Refr. lines are connected to the valve, so I would look there first.
