Microfiber question

I need to buy new sheets.

I've always slept on 100% cotton sheets, but now I see that good sets of cotton sheets can become quite expensive. (120 dollars and above seem to me expensive for sheets).

I have always been suspected of polyester, because it will not be either soft or cool.

But I see many sheets of microfiber that claim to be of high quality at reasonable prices. (half the price of whole cotton)

I will just throw it out there for people to think and give some recommendations.

And everything you know about threads counts, etc.
