Securing the bottom of skirting suggestions?

The mobile home my Dad bought came with its' own corrugated metal for skirting which I've went ahead and setup. Were on dirt only. I went ahead and drove wood stakes with a 1x4 screwed to the stakes along the bottom. My original intention was to run some sort of a barrier for water/moisture from soaking the ground thus rotting the stakes out. Due to un-forseen limitations I haven't been able to get this done. Before these stakes start failing, anyone have a suggestion for a better way to anchor the 1x4s the skirting is attached to at the bottom? The top is ok as it's attached to the home itself.

Check the Articles section of the site, "A better skirting idea" for some answers. It works!
