I am looking to build a battery back up for my pellet stove. Northern Canadian winters tend to have a few power outages. Have the batteries and the inverter, but am dumb founded when it comes to what a transfer switch looks like, let alone how to hook one up. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge to help out.

Mike, here is a site devoted to wood heat. I know the subject of back up power comes up regularly. You may have to do some searching, but I bet you can find it. Check the forum sections.
