I live in a 1987 14 x 70 mobile home and the bathroom exhaust fans don't seem to work well. Is that common in a mobile home this old and the fans need updated or do they just need replaced cause they're old?

I replaced both of our fans. They still "worked" but were the cheapest things they could find when they built the mobile home and they didn't move hardly any air. The new ones work much better.

Usually they just need to be removed, cleaned, and lubricated. Sometimes just a shot of wd40 will do it

The factory installed ones I had were awful. We replaced them with newer MH units, which are better.

Usually bathroom fans are on the cheap side from the factory. You can pull the fan/motor out of the fixture, clean it up, lube the bearings, and check the exhaust tubing for dirt/clogs. Hopefully that will help improve getting moist air up and out of the home.

Newer fans operate quieter and move more air volume, so a replacement is a big plus.
