Hi

I have stumps on the property and I'd rather not spend the money to rent a stump grinder.

Any home formulas to speed up stump rot?

Thank you

Harry
Aside from the roof leak, soft floors, rats, mice and bursted plumbing ........ how do you like it?

Hi Harry,

We have tried this...drill holes in the stump, about a couple inches part from each other, fill each hole with rock salt, fill with water, cover in mulch. A few times a week go out and replace the rock salt, keep as moist as possible. My Hubby chipped away at the soften, rotting areas with an axe from time to time.

Still time consuming, but cheap!

Hi Harry,
While at Home Depot last week I saw a product made specifically for aiding the decay of stumps. Can't remember the name unfortunately, but it is a powder. You drill a few holes in the stump and pour it in, then keep it moist and it's supposed to hasten the decay. I've also heard that rock salt can be used in the same way.
