Hi everyone,
I want to clean up the inside framework and crank mechanisms on some old crank out windows. Are there products available especially for cleaning aluminum or can someone recommend a product that they've used that worked and didn't harm anything? Preferably something that I can rinse away with a squirt bottle of water or cup of water and let it drain out the window, there's just too much in the way to wipe everything down and this is inside. There is several years of dirt on these so I will use an old toothbrush to help the cleaner along and clean out the little crevices. One product that I have on hand is Simple Green, I've considered using it. It worked pretty well on a small area that I tried so it's a good candidate. Still I'm open to other ideas and suggestions if you have them.

There are some aluminum cleaners that are spray on/wash off usually for outdoor use, But I don't know what the "runoff" would do the siding.
