Black pipe unable to use shark teeth connections

Shows what I started with. I wish I'd have cut the pipe on the small section of white pipe but I wanted to clean it up so I didn't. Now I'm having problems because the black pipe isn't 3/4" or 1" which would enable me to use shark teeth connections. I tried a reducer which glued in well on the left section of pipe although I'm not sure it's not going to leak but on the right section of pipe it keeps pulling out. Any ideas on what to attach to the black pipe on the right which is close to the floor, although I can pull it up a few inches. Sorry I don't know the names of all the pipes. I believe the white pipe is a type of PVC.

That is a place that I would NOT use the shark/gator type fittings. I think I would make the transformation connection under the home from the black supply tubing to PEX. About the only connector that works on black tube is the push in insert & clamps. Once you get to pipe thread it gets easier to make connections.

What do you mean by push in insert? I thought I was using a push in insert. What is the black piping called. Is plex the gray tubing?

Isn't the connection I used a push in insert? I think I didn't let it dry long enough.

the push in connectors should look like this, but In would used galvanized.

The gray tubing was was PB tubing, I dont think it is made any more due to leak problems. PEX is a much better tube and easy to work with.

Thank you for your help. I, also, found out that the piping in the picture is for fabric softener due to the hard water in this park. Unfortunately its useless plumbing cause its not used. Anyway I cut the connection underneath the home and added a connection that goes straight to the water heater.
