I would do a search for this, but I dont know exactly what to search for. I havent noticed this until it started getting colder and the cold water is actually cold now. My shower will be the temperature I set it for about a minute, and then for about 5 seconds, it will go straight cold, and then go back to the normal temperature I set it as. I thought maybe the anti-scald value was going out, but my 11yo son says his shower does the same thing, so I figured it cant be them, because each shower has one, or at least i thought they do. Anyone ever seen anything like this??

It sounds to me like some kind of intermittent blockage. I think I would try flushing the tank and see what comes out. There may be some rust or scale chunks in the bottom.
