Following the example from my double-wide - I am thinking about building a workshop (12 x 28) and using concrete pads and blocks rather than poured concrete piers. A slab is out of the question due to the slope of the land. Also, I have zero experience building or pouring piers - and contracting it out is a huge chunk of change. On the other hand, I can build the basic square forms for the 24x24x12 pads without much headache.
If this type of pad and block works ok for huge mobile homes - wouldn't it work just as well in other applications??
(I have a 9" auger on my small tractor, so doing holes for tie-downs isn't an issue.)
