Do you guys usually caulk the vertical joints where to pressed wood panels come together?

Thanks!

I guess it can't hurt, but depending on the job it may not look too good.

Is it a tongue and groove joint or just two flat edges butting up against each other?

The panels are tongue and groove.

if the seams are in good condition, I don't caulk them. Eventually, caulk pulls away and the crack it leaves will actually guide water into the seam. If you do caulk, it is a real good idea to paint the siding and caulk to protect the caulk edges.
