heating fuel
hello guys, I asked this question a while ago. heating oil types 1 and type 2 . my furnace lables says it burns both types, and i know type 1 is kero, and type 2 his heatingoil. my neighbor says that in a pinch I can burn diesle fuel in this type of furnace. is that true ? I want to fire it up to see how well it works but can't afford a full tank of fuel right now.

Well Joe, it will burn both types. The problem is that in cold weather thicker fuel will gel up and plug the filter that is why you see Diesel trucks along the highway broke down in extreme cold. If you had a tank in a basement or a way to keep the fuel warm it would be fine.
