We have a heater in our front addition room that we've never used. We want to take it out and utilize the gas for a gas fireplace. We also have a natural gas barbeque grill by the back patio that we don't want. Should we hire someone to remove these items or can hubby do it? Since we are dealing with gas, I am leery about DIY.
Here is the heater:

Hi,
It could be done DIY if familiar with the task and knowledgeable to do so.
The word "leery' makes me feel probably best to have it done.
It can become dangerous if not knowledgeable in the task and should a mishap occurr, aside from dangers to persons involved, you would be liable for others as well (neighbors).
Your homeowners insurance would be uncooperative and may even void the policy as well.
Then the lawsuit chasers and lawyers.
It is an easy enough task for an experienced Tech or Handyman and should be rather inexpensive just to disconnect and cap off the lines.
Take care and best wishes,
Robert
