I and my husband just purchased a 2010 mobile home, have not got it set on a dirt pad, yet, just wondering the pro's and con's of putting a vapor barrier down before setting the mobile home down. Any help or suggestions wouldbe greatly appreciated

I would put the plastic down before the home is put in place. It will make for a MUCH easier job. The plastic will not only be a vapor barrier but a moisture barrier also. Many areas require a concrete pad be in place before you set a new home in place, If you haven't checked yet, you may want to. Greg

Hi,

I agree, although I am a huge advocate of a moisture barrior. To me there are no cons in putting down the plastic. The cost is cheap in comparison to moisture damage that not having one can cause.

Greg is correct about a concrete pad..I know many years ago the state I previously lived in started mandating that all newly installed MH must be placed on a full pad. Check your local codes office.
