I have one of those 5 brick wall mounted gas heaters and was wondering if it is possible to make a faux looking fireplace around it. Could a mantel be put over it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
Does your unit have a blower on it? Last I remembered with these units was that nothing was suppose to be within 3 feet of them. You could do a google on your unit simply by typing in the model number and brand.
Other than that I see no reason why you couldn't do a faux fire place surround. Hopefully others will chime in with their thoughts or possible ideas.

The difference between success and failure is who gives up first!
I'm like the robot in the Alley Sheedy movie,,,,,iiiinput, I need input..
Marble and stone mantles are used above some good sized/output fireplaces so they will withstand some heat..Go with Yanita's idea tho and check with the manufacturer for specs.. also Your insurer may have a few things to say.
Me,,I got nuthin..
