I love this idea!!!!!

This was an article from the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on
Sunday.

The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix
the Economy?" I thought this was the BEST idea....I think this guy
nailed it!

Dear Mr. President,

Patriotic retirement:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them
$1 million apiece severance with the following stipulations:

1) They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered -
Auto Industry fixed.

3) They either buy a house/pay off their mortgage -
Housing Crisis fixed.

Can't get any easier than that!

I got that as an email...sounds simple enough, but anything simple the government rejects. A million bucks would certainly simplify my world...

That's where I got it (email). thought it was funny, but like most solutions, simple might be the way to go.

Jim when was the last time you actually heard of the US goverment

doing something simple(Form a study group-spend forty million

studying it-reject study- form think tank of experts-spend 75 million

on high priced study group-move it to congress write a bill-reject

simple bill-add 2.5 billion in pork barrel spending on page 4,167 of one

page idea-run congress into overtime-pay 2.5 million in per diem for

time spent in special congressional session-pass it to senate same

deal-president signs it-irs/treasury spends 1.4 billion writing
checks-

postal service charges-1.4 billion to mail them= net cost 10 Billion

and thats why we don't do simple things here in the states it just

costs to much.

Since when does the government fix crisis's? Where would this $40 billion come from? Trees like the rest of it?

Why not just buy everyone a car and pay off their mortgage for them? It would save by not having to form agencies and administrations to govern the spending of the money.

I'm sorry, but I vote for capitalism, not socialism. A free economy is what we need, not a government run socialist one. You can't spend your way out of debt.

Exactly! We'll be paying for this for years to come. But that's fine for the Obamanation, make the people dependent upon the government. The 'new world order' is coming.

Just hoping my kid has a strong back cause he's gonna need it when this country is either owned by everyone else cause they hold all our debt or to push the wheel barrow full of money when it becomes like germanys towards the end ,worth so little you need a ton to buy a loaf of bread.

Just my personal opinion (been voting independent for years) that if people would vote for someone besides the dems or Reps we might start to get a handle on it.

In my 50+ years all i've ever
seen the reps do is cut taxs and make us feel good for 8 years so the
dems can cleanup the mess in the next 4 in the only way they know how ,which is bigger goverment and more taxs.

Its time for another boston tea party on this time we need to throw
politicians in the harbor, oh wait that would pollute it worse than
the tea did.

That is sooo true Digital. I remember everyone complaining when the Canadian Liberal Gov't started working on the deficit. Everyone complained. Then when we started to get a handle on it and were running surplus budgets and paying it down, the idiot Conservatives got in and blew it all. Then the market went into the toilet and there was no wiggle room and now we run a deficit budget again. I don't think people realize just how much money we are paying just in interest to service these huge debts. All of it could be going toward other things, like tax breaks (after the debt is paid), infrastructure, social programs, international aid, etc. The whole thing is, look after the budget like it was you home (a sane one), THEN, use whatever , if any, is left over for "frills".

Almost any sort of even keel that benefits the general puplic more than the elite is ok in My book. The elite can be richer without being 50Xs richer,,that is taking a good thing(either capitalism or socialism)wayyyyy too far.

The interest on the National Debt is around $400,000,000,000 per year right now. 400BILLION.
As to where they are getting the money from, China is a big player, but there are other countries in on the split also.

Hitler blamed all they're troubles on the Jews when the German economy collapsed and got people to hate Jews.

We now hear that our problems are caused by the RICH. DAAA.

They have to have some one or some group to dump on in order to draw our attention away from what is really going on.
Just like a magician does, and see, it works fine.

The only people who REALLY know what is going on are the people that are doing it to us. Never mind the talking heads on the radio and TV news. They are paid to read it to us and that's all.

This is just the beginning.

So true the American public has become the followers of the 30 second sound bite.

This is what pisses me of the most is I save a lot and invest a lot
which is suppose to be the smart way and what do I
get for it, my ira is in the toilet ,my mutual funds grow in shares by leaps and bounds but the shares ain't worth half what they were
last year and the more I improve my property the lower the real estate values go.

And goverments answer to everything is help others when was the last time they helped us.It's like those somolian hijackers are high
jacking aid boats, if they got enough money to buy guns and boats
let them aid themselves. When enough people in those third world
country's are starving cause we have got tired of sending aid to corrupt goverments they will overthrow that goverment like we did the british ,it's time for another tea party, and not just here at home.

It isn't one problem,,it's a PILE. The rich gettin too fat of our backs *and* with their hands all over govt decisions may very well be a part of that pile. That's how it's worked all through history anyway and I'm more inclined to believe history than any living source,,dead folks got no reason to lie.
