The fuse & disconnect assembly overheated and caused a few of the wires going to the coils, limit switches & sequencers to catch fire. Good thing was it was caught before any major damage. It appears the 60 amp fuses had been overheating causing the a heat build up. Other than lose connections at the fuses, etc what else could cause the fuses to heat up even though they never blew?

Either loose connections at the prongs or lugs or high amperage draw from furnace.

We have the disconnect assemblies, fuses and wiring accessories if needed.

Thanks,
Robert

Possibly the fuse holder itself? Is there a replacement? I have seen the ones that are disconnects only and require additional fuse panels or some other type of overcurrent protection. The items you offer are on your standard link?
Thanks .

Hi,

The disconnect assemblies I posted about are the fuse blocks.

Nordyne no longer makes them, however, we still have them from Coleman and they are a match for the Nordyne units.

They can be seen and ordered from this page:

Depends on how many fuses and what size as to which disconnect assembly you would need.

We also have wiring and wire terminals for high heat applications if needed.

Thanks,
Robert

Forgot on earlier post, is there a wiring diagram like the one that used to be on cover of the unit available? The existing one is charred beyond redemption.

Hi,

Disconnect Assembly # 3500-3261 @ $102.20 + $8.00 shipping.

It can be seen and ordered through PayPal from left side here:

http://www.mobilehomerepair.com/ColemanElec.html

ALL of these are disconnects and for safety against shorts inside furnace. None of them are overcurrent devices.

Order wiring diagrams here:

Thanks,
Robert
