We have decided to go solar and try to help the environment as well as our bottom line. This company we are dealing with has a plan to "lease" the solar panels for a monthly fee they install, maintain and repair the system.
The system we are getting is 7.7 kw. The total upfront cost to us is only $1000. (to buy a system runs around $40,000 to $60,000) then $288/mo. that is fixed and won't go up over the next 18yrs, it does go down each year about $10/mo. Since we spend around $400/mo now on power it will be a savings (we will still get an Edison bill, but it should be less then $100/mo)
The company, SunRun, is in Calif, AZ and Mass.
If you live in those areas and have been looking at solar, you might want to check it out.
I am sure there are other companies out there, if you look in the Internet.

Great. Your payback should be good. Keep us posted as to the installation they performed, and, the electrical savings. Please post the specific system they will be putting in so we can take a closer look at it. Thanks.
