Kilz preminum primer compatibility question

Hi, new to posting. I started looking a year ago for a used mobile home, so I've been checking out this site for awhile so I could get some information on remodeling. I found a SW, and in about two weeks will start tearing out carpet in preparation for laminate flooring. After tearing out the carpet and before laying the laminate first I'm going to paint the walls. From reading the painting posts here, I know I need to clean walls with TSP and rinse with clean water. I decided to use Kilz Premium primer and want to confirm that Lowe's Valspar that says it's a water based latex paint will be compatible with the Kilz premium primer. I think I just need confirmation to feel confident. I don't want paint peeling off the walls like some horror stories I've read on here. Thanks for any comments.

Welcome to the forum. Yes, any latex paint will do well over Kilz, original, premium or Kilz II. Kilz Premium would be my choice unless I was hiding very bad stains or going from a dark color to a light color. Then I would go with Kilz original. There is also nothing wrong with using Kilz original any time. But the premium is a lower VOC and and cleans up with water.

Thanks JD.....I was a little wary of painting that wallboard, but feel more comfortable now.

I'm using the Kilz Odorless primer, which is quite similar to the Premium, and have used the Kilz Original (because it's formulated to stick to glossy or wallpapered... hello wallboard... surfaces) and am painting with a latex paint, not one problem yet!
