Beadboard wainscotting

I'm looking to put some kind of beadboard wainscotting in our master bath. I purchased a 32 x 48 panel at Home Depot which was exactly what I wanted. After I got it home I saw it can not be used in high humidity! I then bought a pack of beadboard panels from Lowe's that are not much better- have to be painted on all 6 sides. A third option is beadboard wallpaper which is surprisingly realistic but I am concerned about durability and of course wallpaper in a bathroom due to humidity. Does anyone have any suggestions or your experiences?

Thanks,

Chris

Check Fypon.com. They make a line of PVC beadboard panels. I have it between the top of the shower walls and ceiling. You can order Fypon products from the contractor counter at Lowes. I'm not sure if Home Depot carries it.

If you get the wainscotting that is in the packages that is cedar it should be OK. More $ but smells nice!

We put pre-primed beadboard from Lowe's in both of our bathrooms about 2 years ago and have had no problems at all.Image

Lynn,

Very pretty bathroom. I personally love beadboard. Our master bath is from ceiling to floor!

Regardless of what you choose for finish wall product always make sure to run the exhaust fan during and up to 1/2 hour after showering/bathing.

Lynn,
Your bathrooms look great. Did you add trim around the windows? In the pic.s, it looks like you might have. If so, can you get a close up for me? Thanks.

Yes, we put trim around the windows in both bathrooms and the kitchen - working on the living room now. We also put in crown moulding and baseboards - really makes a difference!! I got out my camera to take a close up shot for you, but the battery is dead. I have it on charge, so I'll post a couple of pictures for you shortly. Thanks!

Hi. Love the bathroom pic. I put beadboard in my kitchen. I used the 4x8 wooden panels that I bought at HD. You have to sand and prime, but once done its great. It covered up all the funky wall-papered board. It gives it that "cabin" look.
I am very happy with it.
